Editorial Policies
Integrity, quality, and fairness in transplant science publishing.
Upholding Scientific Standards
JOT adheres to guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Our policies protect the integrity of the scientific record.
Double-Blind Process
Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout review, minimizing bias and ensuring manuscripts are judged solely on scientific merit.
Expert Evaluation
Minimum two independent expert reviews required for all decisions. Editors select reviewers with relevant transplant expertise and no conflicts.
Constructive Feedback
Reviewers provide detailed, actionable comments. We expect professional, evidence-based critique aimed at improving manuscript quality.
Appeals Process
Authors may appeal editorial decisions in writing to the Editor-in-Chief with specific rebuttals to reviewer concerns and new supporting evidence.
