Article Processing Charges
Current Scientific Research (JCSR) is committed to immediate, open access publication so that evidence can be read, reused, and cited without subscription barriers. Article Processing Charges (APCs) sustain the full publishing workflow, from editorial screening and peer review coordination to production, indexing, and digital preservation.
We keep pricing transparent and predictable. APCs are applied only after a manuscript is accepted, and our waiver and discount options help ensure that funding constraints do not prevent high quality multidisciplinary work from reaching the global research community.
Clear and predictable pricing
The APC model supports a rigorous, ethical, and efficient publishing experience. For most research and review articles, the average APC is USD 2,100. JCSR offers a flat student rate of USD 540 with valid student identification, and members, editors, and reviewers may receive discounts of up to forty percent based on eligibility.
There is no submission or peer review fee. Charges are confirmed at acceptance, and the editorial office will provide an itemized invoice suitable for institutional or grant reporting requirements.

Waivers and Equity Support: JCSR provides partial waivers for authors based in low and lower-middle income countries, and considers case by case requests that demonstrate limited funding. Requests should be included at submission so the editorial office can confirm eligibility before acceptance.
Payment and Invoicing: Invoices are issued after acceptance and can be billed directly to institutions, research offices, or grant managers. Receipts and compliance documentation are available for funder audits and institutional reporting.
Withdrawal Policy: If a manuscript is withdrawn after three days from submission, a withdrawal charge of thirty percent of the applicable APC applies to cover editorial handling already completed. Withdrawal must be confirmed by the editorial office.
Funding strategies and documentation
Many authors cover APCs through grant budgets, departmental open access programs, or institutional publishing agreements. We recommend planning APC support early in the research lifecycle to avoid delays after acceptance.
For collaborative projects, APCs may be distributed across partner institutions. The editorial office can assist with split billing, funding letters, and documentation required by funders or ethics boards.
Common questions and billing clarity
APC policies are designed to keep editorial decisions independent from payment. Reviewers and editors do not see billing information, and acceptance is based solely on scientific merit, ethics, and scope fit.
- APCs are billed only after acceptance and final editorial approval.
- Institutional invoicing and grant billing are supported on request.
- Split payments can be arranged for multi institution collaborations.
- Waiver requests should be submitted with the cover letter for review.
- Receipts and compliance letters are provided for funder reporting.
- Production begins after payment confirmation and proof approval.
JCSR aligns APC documentation with common funder requirements and supports repository deposits to help authors meet open access mandates.
Budget Planning: Include APCs in grant proposals and institutional publishing plans. Many funders allow publication costs, and early planning prevents delays after acceptance.
Institutional Agreements: Departments and libraries can centralize APC management for multiple authors, reducing administrative overhead and improving cost predictability.
Transparency Commitment: JCSR provides clear cost explanations and confirms all fees in writing. Authors can request clarification before payment is processed.
Why APCs matter for quality
APCs support consistent editorial staffing, reviewer management, and production quality across a broad multidisciplinary portfolio. This investment allows JCSR to deliver reliable peer review timelines, validated metadata, and long term preservation for each article.
We also provide support for funding documentation, institutional reporting, and repository deposits to help authors comply with open access policies from universities and funding agencies.
- Decision independence and blinded financial handling.
- Clear communication of fees before payment.
- Optional billing to departments or grants offices.
- Assistance with funder open access compliance.
Avoid delays after acceptance
Typical payment windows range from two to four weeks after acceptance, depending on institutional processes. Authors should confirm funding sources early so production can begin promptly after payment confirmation.
