Instructions For Author
These Instructions for Authors outline the preparation and submission requirements for manuscripts to Current Scientific Research. JCSR publishes open access, peer reviewed work across all scientific domains, with a focus on clear methodology, reproducibility, and meaningful impact.
Please read these guidelines carefully to ensure a smooth review process, faster editorial decisions, and efficient production after acceptance.
What JCSR publishes
JCSR welcomes original research, systematic reviews, meta analyses, methods papers, data descriptors, short communications, and interdisciplinary studies. Manuscripts should present a clear research question, an appropriate study design, transparent reporting of methods and results, and a discussion of implications for scientific advancement or application.
Submissions that bridge fields, introduce new analytical approaches, or translate findings into actionable insights are especially encouraged. Authors should ensure that terminology and structure are accessible to a broad scientific readership.

Manuscript organization
Manuscripts should be prepared in clear English using standard scientific structure: Title, Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References. Provide a short running title and three to six keywords to support indexing and discoverability.
Figures and tables should be numbered sequentially and referenced in the text. Submit figures as high resolution files with descriptive captions. If the work involves complex data or code, include an appendix or supplementary file that enables verification and reuse.
Use consistent units, define abbreviations at first use, and report statistical methods with sufficient detail to allow replication. For clinical or human subject studies, include trial registration numbers and ethics approval information where applicable.
Prepare
Before submission- Check scope alignment and article type
- Confirm authorship order and contributions
- Collect ethics approvals and consent forms
- Ensure figures and tables meet quality standards
Submit
Day 0- Upload manuscript and supplementary files
- Provide data availability and funding statements
- Suggest reviewers with relevant expertise
- Include cover letter with novelty summary
Revise
After review- Address reviewer feedback point by point
- Highlight revisions in the manuscript
- Provide a clear response letter
- Confirm updated data and ethics statements
Ethics and Consent: Studies involving humans or animals must include ethics approval details and informed consent statements. Authors should follow recognized reporting standards such as CONSORT, PRISMA, STROBE, or ARRIVE when applicable.
Authorship and Contributions: All listed authors must have contributed significantly to the work, approve the final manuscript, and accept responsibility for the content. Provide a brief contribution statement for transparency.
Data Availability: Include a data availability statement and deposit data in a trusted repository when possible. If data cannot be shared, explain the limitation and any access conditions.
Conflicts and Funding: Disclose all financial or personal relationships that could be perceived as influencing the research. Provide funding sources, grant numbers, and sponsor roles.
Production, licensing, and publication
After acceptance, the editorial office will issue an APC invoice and begin production once payment is confirmed. Authors receive proofs for final review and are responsible for checking accuracy of data, author names, and affiliations.
All articles are published under a Creative Commons license to maximize reuse and citation. JCSR supports repository deposits and metadata distribution to indexing services to maximize discoverability.
Accuracy and traceability
Use a consistent citation style throughout the manuscript and ensure every reference is complete and accurate. Include DOIs or stable links when available. References should reflect current literature and provide clear attribution to prior work.
For datasets, software, and preprints, include appropriate citations and version numbers to enable reuse and verification. Accuracy of references is the responsibility of the authors and is checked during production.
Presentation standards
Figures should be submitted at high resolution and include legible labels, units, and legends. Tables should be editable and not embedded as images. If the manuscript includes complex datasets, consider providing a supplementary file with detailed variable descriptions.
Supplementary materials should be clearly labeled and referenced in the main text. Provide a brief summary of the supplementary content in the manuscript to guide readers.
Transparency for prior sharing
JCSR accepts submissions that have been posted as preprints, provided that the preprint is disclosed at submission. Authors should update the preprint record to reference the final published article once accepted.
Prior conference abstracts or posters are acceptable when clearly identified. Duplicate publication is not permitted, and manuscripts must be substantially original.
Reproducibility expectations
Data and code availability should be described with specific repository links, access conditions, and license terms. For computational studies, provide sufficient code documentation, dependencies, and version details to enable reproduction of results.
When data cannot be shared publicly, explain the restriction and provide a contact path or controlled access option where possible.
Maintaining the scholarly record
Authors may appeal editorial decisions by providing a detailed response to reviewer comments and explaining why a reconsideration is warranted. Appeals are reviewed by the editorial office and may involve additional review.
Post publication updates, including corrections or addenda, are handled transparently to maintain the integrity of the scientific record.
Clarity for multidisciplinary readers
While JCSR does not enforce strict word limits, authors should use concise, scientific language and ensure that all sections support the research objective. Extensive background can be shortened in favor of clear methods and results reporting.
Use headings and subheadings to improve navigation for multidisciplinary readers, and define specialized terms when first introduced.
Standards for transparent research
Reporting guidelines help standardize presentation and improve reproducibility. Use CONSORT for clinical trials, PRISMA for systematic reviews, STROBE for observational studies, and ARRIVE for animal research where applicable. Include checklist references or supplemental files when required.
Positioning your submission
Cover letters should summarize the novelty, significance, and scope fit of the manuscript. Identify the primary contribution, highlight any special issue relevance, and confirm that the work is original and not under review elsewhere.
What to upload
Submission files should include the main manuscript, figures, tables, supplementary data, and a cover letter. Provide author contribution statements and identify corresponding authors with contact information. Ensure that file names are clear and consistent to reduce processing time.
Ensure transparency and agreement
Authorship order should reflect contribution to study conception, data collection, analysis, and writing. Changes to authorship after submission require written approval from all authors and justification to the editorial office.
Publication model awareness
JCSR publishes all articles open access. Authors should be prepared to review APC details after acceptance and respond promptly to invoicing requests. Open access licensing enables immediate sharing and citation growth.
Final quality checks
During proofing, authors must review formatting, figures, and author details carefully. Only minor corrections are permitted at this stage. Prompt proof approval ensures faster publication.
Declare support transparently
Include a funding statement that lists grant numbers, sponsors, and the role of funders in the study. If the work was unfunded, state this explicitly in the acknowledgments.
Improve discoverability
Provide three to six keywords that reflect core methods and findings. Well chosen keywords improve indexing and help multidisciplinary readers discover your work.
Provide complete compliance information
Include ethics approval dates, protocol numbers, and approving body names where applicable. Provide a brief statement on participant privacy and data protection measures.
Primary contact details
List a single corresponding author with institutional email, full address, and phone number for editorial communication.
Optional summary points
Provide a brief highlights section if appropriate, summarizing the key findings in two to three bullet style sentences. Highlights improve scanning for busy readers and support dissemination.
ORCID and researcher IDs
Include ORCID identifiers for all authors when available. Consistent identifiers improve attribution and indexing accuracy.
Readable structure
Use descriptive section headings and consistent numbering to help reviewers navigate complex content quickly.
Final submission check
Confirm that all files open correctly and that figure legends match the final manuscript text.
