Contributing to the advancement of nucleic acid science through rigorous peer-reviewed research

Invitation to the Global Nucleic Acid Research Community

The Journal of DNA and RNA Research (JDRR) invites submissions of original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and short communications from investigators across all disciplines of nucleic acid biology. As a leading open-access journal in molecular biology and genetics, JDRR is committed to the rapid dissemination of significant findings that advance our understanding of DNA and RNA structure, function, regulation, replication, transcription, and therapeutic applications. We serve as a premier platform for the nucleic acid research community to share discoveries that shape the future of personalized medicine, gene therapy, and fundamental biological understanding.

We welcome contributions from established investigators at major research universities, emerging researchers at the beginning of their independent careers, postdoctoral fellows developing their research profiles, and collaborative teams from academia and industry worldwide. Our rigorous double-blind peer-review process, conducted by international experts in DNA and RNA biology, ensures that accepted manuscripts meet the highest standards of scientific quality, methodological rigor, statistical validity, and ethical conduct. Whether your research addresses fundamental mechanisms of nucleic acid biology at the molecular level or explores translational applications in precision medicine, diagnostics, and biotechnology innovation, JDRR provides an authoritative platform for reaching your target audience of researchers, clinicians, and industry professionals who are shaping the future of nucleic acid science.

Manuscript Categories

Original Research Articles: Full-length manuscripts presenting novel findings in nucleic acid biology supported by comprehensive experimental data. Research articles should include detailed methodology sufficient for reproducibility, appropriate statistical analysis, and thorough discussion of results in the context of existing literature. There is no strict page limit, though authors are encouraged to present their findings concisely while maintaining scientific completeness.

Review Articles: Comprehensive, authoritative reviews that synthesize current knowledge on significant topics in DNA and RNA research. Reviews should provide balanced critical analysis rather than simple literature surveys, and may include meta-analyses where appropriate. Prospective review authors are encouraged to submit a brief proposal outlining the scope and timeliness of their intended review before full submission.

Short Communications: Brief reports presenting significant but preliminary findings, novel methodologies, or results of particular timeliness that merit rapid publication. Short communications follow an expedited review process and are typically limited to 3000 words with a maximum of 4 figures or tables. This format is ideal for technical notes, negative results of importance, and confirmatory studies.

Perspectives and Commentaries: Opinion pieces and commentaries addressing current controversies, emerging trends, or significant developments in nucleic acid research. These submissions should present well-reasoned arguments supported by appropriate citations and are subject to editorial review for balance and scientific accuracy.

Submission Guidelines

Authors should prepare manuscripts according to JDRR author guidelines, ensuring clear presentation of objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions. All submissions must include a cover letter describing the significance of the work and confirming that the manuscript represents original research not under consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word or LaTeX format with figures as separate high-resolution files.

Ethical compliance is mandatory. Research involving human subjects must have appropriate institutional review board approval. Studies using animals must comply with institutional and national guidelines for ethical treatment. Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest and funding sources that supported the research. Data availability statements are required, and authors are encouraged to deposit datasets in appropriate public repositories.
